Drug task force seizes evidence of ‘long-term drug distribution’ plan
WORTON — The Kent County Narcotics Task Force on April 27 charged a Worton man with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute after locating suspected powdered cocaine and packaging materials in his residence.
Samuel Edward Hackett, 50, also was charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released April 30 after posting $5,000 unsecured personal bond, according to online court records.
Task force officers assisted by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team executed a court-ordered search and seizure warrant at 5 a.m. April 27 at a home in the 11000-block of Wallace Woods Road. Hackett was there, according to police. Suspected powdered cocaine, prescription medication, digital scales, packaging materials and cash were seized. Also seized was “evidence of long-term distribution being conducted from the residence,” according to a news release.
