CENTREVILLE — Marian Lee Faulkner died on March 24, 2018 at the Gilchrist Hospice Center in Howard County. She was 88 years old.

She was born in Chestertown on

May 4, 1929, daughter of Goldsborough (Goldie) Morgan and Catherine (Kitty) Kenda l l Jones. She had three siblings, all deceased, brothers Simpers (Skippy) Jones and Marvin (Mike) Jones and sister Hazel Waterfield, who died in February 2018.

Marian graduated from Chestertown High School and went on to Washington College, Class of 1951. She met her husband Rodney R. Faulkner while they were students. Rodney died in 1980.

Marian lived in Baltimore in the early years of her marriage, but returned to the Eastern Shore in 1972. She was a teacher in Queen Anne’s County schools, retiring in 1992 as second-grade teacher at Centreville Elementary School.

Marian is survived by her three children Barbara Faulkner (Rick Jones) of Church Hill, Russell Faulkner of Owings Mills and Kendall Faulkner (Susan Roche) of Bar Harbor, Maine. She has three grandchildren, Lauren, Molly and Daniel; along with greatgrandson Miles.

Marian especially enjoyed her years of living on Belvedere Avenue in Centreville. Her friends, family and former coworkers were always an important part of her life, along with her cat. She enjoyed books and puzzles, and was devoted to her flower gardens. An excursion out to lunch, some shopping at a yard sale and a ride on country roads were all sources of much enjoyment. She resided at the Bayleigh Chase ALF in Easton during her last few years, no longer able to be at home.

Burial and service will be at a later date and will be private.

Please direct memorial donations to the organization of your choice, and perhaps plant a spring flower in her memory.
