Suspected heroin, paraphernalia seized during March traffic stop
CHESTERTOWN — Suspected heroin and evidence of alleged drug distribution seized during a traffic stop in the middle of March led to the arrest of a Chestertown man and woman.
Kenneth Ralph Fonseca II, 34, and Brandi Alexandria Reed, 33, were charged with possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute; conspiracy to possess a narcotic with in- tent to distribute; possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana; conspiracy to possess a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest warrants were served April 2.
According to online court records, Fonseca was released after posting a $20,000 corpo- rate bond and Reed was released after posting a $10,000 unsecured personal bond.
The cases against both of them have been forwarded for prosecution in the Circuit Court for Kent County.
The Kent County Narcotics Task Force, assisted by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office patrol and criminal investigation divisions and the Maryland State Police, executed a court-authorized search and seizure warrant on Fonseca, Reed and the vehicle they occupied March 15 during a traffic stop in the Chestertown area.
Police seized 25 clear capsules containing suspected heroin with a total weight of 12.3 grams, according to a task force news release.
