Santa ar­rives in Rock Hall by boat

ROCK HALL — Ac­com­pa­nied by the Kent County Com­mu­nity March­ing Band on Satur­day night, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus walk down Main Street to Santa’s house af­ter ar­riv­ing in Rock Hall by boat at the Bay­side Av­enue bulk­head. The pair also par­tic­i­pated in the light­ing of the Rock Hall Com­mu­nity Crab Bas­ket Christ­mas Tree, which is now two trees com­pris­ing 208 hand-painted bas­kets.

One of the fea­tured at­trac­tions in Rock Hall on Satur­day night is an il­lu­mi­nated Christ­mas tree of hand-painted crab bas­kets. The project was started three years ago as a trib­ute to loved ones who had passed away. Now there are two trees with a total of 208 crab bas­kets.

Travis Hay­man, who is the drum ma­jor for the Kent County Com­mu­nity March­ing Band, joins his fel­low mu­si­cians per­form­ing hol­i­day fa­vorites Satur­day night to mark Santa’s ar­rival in Rock Hall.

Kyle Ul­rick skip­pers the sail­boat that brings Frosty The Snow­man into the Rock Hall har­bor Satur­day night. The pa­rade of four boats was led by Capt. Greg Jet­ton, with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and Mayor Brian Jones aboard.

Rock Hall now boasts two crab bas­ket Christ­mas trees, com­prised of 162 re­newed bas­kets (above) and 46 new bas­kets. The project was started three years ago as a trib­ute to loved ones who had passed away. Pro­ceeds ben­e­fit the town’s re­cre­ation com­mit­tee.
