The court­house cal­en­dar will carry guilty, not guilty, NP and stet ver­dicts.

NP (nolle pros­e­qui): A for­mal en­try upon the record by the pros­e­cut­ing of­fi­cer in a crim­i­nal case by which he de­clares that he “will no fur­ther pros­e­cute” the case.

Stet: Stay of a de­ci­sion that may not be en­tered over the de­fen­dant’s ob­jec­tion and may be re­in­stated within the year for trial at the re­quest of ei­ther party. Af­ter one year’s time, it may be resched­uled only upon good cause shown.

The only dis­trict court mo­tor ve­hi­cle cases that are pub­lished here are those re­lated to im­paired driv­ing.

Cir­cuit Court Judge Har­ris P. Mur­phy Nov. 13, 2018

Al­lan Njagi Kithinji, 24, Chestertown. Driv­ing while im­paired by al­co­hol. Plea guilty. Ver­dict guilty. The de­fen­dant is sen­tenced to 52 days in the Kent County De­ten­tion Cen­ter. The fol­low­ing charge is dis­missed: driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol.

Gar­rett A. Swartswelder, 26, Cam­bridge. The fol­low­ing charges are dis­missed: pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled dan­ger­ous sub­stance that is not mar­i­juana (two counts); and pos­ses­sion of drug para­pher­na­lia (two counts).

Kevin John Davis, 55, Chestertown. The fol­low­ing charge is placed on the stet docket: bad check is­suance, not suf­fi­cient funds $100 to $1,500. The fol­low­ing charge is dis­missed: ad check is­suance, not suf­fi­cient funds $100 to $1,500.
