Florence D. Towson
CHESTERTOWN — Florence Dora Towson of Chestertown died on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton. She was 71.
Born on Feb. 13, 1947 in Chestertown, she was the daughter of the late George Lewis and Beatrice Chambers Wilson. She graduated from Garnett High School in Chestertown with the Class of 1965. She was married for 15 years to Joseph Towson.
Ms. Towson worked with Vita Foods and Campbell’s Soup, but she was happiest as a private housekeeper for the Othoson, Tuttle, Quick, Fisher, Davis and McHale families.
She adored her children and grandchildren. Ms. Towson loved to dress up for special occasions and look her best.
She is survived by two daughters, Gwen T. Walker of Worton and Lisa Towson of Chestertown; a brother, Randolph Wilson and his daughter Charmaine of Worton; three grandchildren, Richard Walker Jr., DaShira Caulk and Steven Caulk Jr.; and one greatgrandchild, JaMere Wright. She is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Louis Samuel Wilson in 1988.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Chestertown, where relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow in the Dogwood Reception Center. Interment will be private in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
