CHESTERTOWN — The Del-Mar-Va Council, Boy Scouts of America will hold a countywide library day from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 8.

“Local families are invited to come learn more about Cub Scout programs in their neighborhood and sign their family up for a year of outdoor adventure, confidencebuilding, and character development,” a news release states.

All branches of the Kent County Public Library are set to participate.

According to the release, new scouts will receive a free Cub Scouts T-shirt to wear to their first meeting.

“This will be a great opportunity for Kent County families to stop by any of their local libraries and connect with their local Cub Scout Pack,” said Daniel Davis, senior district executive for the council.

“Families will be able to meet some of the great volunteers running Scouting programs in our area and get information about all of the activities their child can enjoy as a Cub Scout. They’ll be able to register on the spot and start attending Cub Scouts as early as next week.”
