Roy F. Scarbro
MILLINGTON — Roy F. Scarbro, 67, of Millington passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018 at his home.
Born in Oak Hill, W.Va., Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Preston Scarbro and Evelyn Elsie Stover.
Roy was a loving husband, father and friend. He was known for his loyalty, honesty and hard work. He was a military veteran who served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1977. He enjoyed working with his hands and spent his entire work life in construction. He was the owner of Scarbro Builders and was a favorite in the community. In his spare time, he could be found with a beer in one hand and a hammer in the other. Roy was a member of Bond Chapel Church and loved spending time in his workshop working on a multitude of projects, gifts and “honey do lists” for his wife, family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Margaret “Peggy” Scarbro of 25 years; son Christopher A. Scarbro and wife Amy; daughter Angela Scarbro Welch and husband Eric; daughter Chris Adwell Musser; daughter-in-law Lisa Temple Adwell; grandchildren Kristen, Anthony, Nicole, Jake, Kieran, Allannah, Ethan, Alexcia, Ashlyn, Aiden and Anderson; brother Mark Scarbro and wife Peggy; sister Tammy Sylvester and husband John; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Joe “Bo” Adwell and grandson Joey.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Fellows Funeral Home in Millington.
