MILLING­TON — Roy F. Scar­bro, 67, of Milling­ton passed away on Tues­day, Dec. 18, 2018 at his home.

Born in Oak Hill, W.Va., Roy was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Roy Pre­ston Scar­bro and Eve­lyn Elsie Stover.

Roy was a lov­ing hus­band, fa­ther and friend. He was known for his loy­alty, hon­esty and hard work. He was a mil­i­tary vet­eran who served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1977. He en­joyed work­ing with his hands and spent his en­tire work life in con­struc­tion. He was the owner of Scar­bro Builders and was a fa­vorite in the com­mu­nity. In his spare time, he could be found with a beer in one hand and a ham­mer in the other. Roy was a mem­ber of Bond Chapel Church and loved spend­ing time in his work­shop work­ing on a mul­ti­tude of projects, gifts and “honey do lists” for his wife, fam­ily and friends.

He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife Mar­garet “Peggy” Scar­bro of 25 years; son Christo­pher A. Scar­bro and wife Amy; daugh­ter An­gela Scar­bro Welch and hus­band Eric; daugh­ter Chris Ad­well Musser; daugh­ter-in-law Lisa Tem­ple Ad­well; grand­chil­dren Kris­ten, An­thony, Ni­cole, Jake, Kieran, Al­lan­nah, Ethan, Alex­cia, Ash­lyn, Ai­den and An­der­son; brother Mark Scar­bro and wife Peggy; sis­ter Tammy Sylvester and hus­band John; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by his son Joe “Bo” Ad­well and grand­son Joey.

A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sun­day, Dec. 30, at Fel­lows Funeral Home in Milling­ton.
