Horizons’ announces ‘stars’ in Dance with the Stars fundraiser
CHESTERTOWN — Walk the red carpet during Horizons of Kent and Queen Anne’s “A Night in Hollywood” Dance with the Stars fundraiser.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Kent County Community Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a cocktail buffet and cash bar. To reserve a table, buy tickets or cast votes, visit horizonskentqueenannes.org.
Local “stars” and pros are paired to earn votes (i.e. dollars) that raise funds for the Horizons summer enrichment program in Kent and Queen Anne’s counties, a news release states.
Dancers and their “pros” are:
John Burke Jr., Gunter McClary Real Es- tate, and pro Jennifer Tosten
Bob Jacob, Chesapeake CNC and Kent County Commissioner, and pro Jennifer Tunis
John Mann, Sultana Education Foundation, and pro Kendall Davis
Nancy Mugele, head of school at Kent School, and pro Diego Guzman
Megan Bramble Owings, David A. Bramble Inc., and pro John Haines
Liddy Campbell Vandemark, Cross Street Realtors, and pro JJ Hester
Jon Wasserman, PRS Guitars, and pro Aundra Anderson
“The program offers six weeks of opportunity for underprivileged youth to reduce ‘summer slide,’ enrich their academ- ics, build and grow swimming skills and give the students an overall fun learning environment in the summer,” the release states.
One hundred percent of donations go directly to helping local children.
As the dancers hone their dance routines, the community can participate by voting or contributing $1 per vote.
“A Night in Hollywood is sure to impress, with the Kent County Community Center being transformed into a glitzy Hollywood setting,” the release states.
Donations are accepted online at horizonskentqueenannes.org or mail donations to Horizons of Kent and Queen Anne’s 116-B Lynchburg Street Chestertown, MD 21620.
