DANDRIDGE - Donald Douglas Hallock, 86, of Dandridge, TN, died peacefully on August 19, 2023. He was born on August 28, 1936, to the late Frank and Jewel Hallock. Also predecease­d by siblings Rose, Frank, Betty, Robert, William, Douglas and Don’s beloved grandson, Justin Gilbert, whom he joined in heaven. Donald, affectiona­tely known as Don, proudly served in the United States Marines. After the Marines, Don went to Syracuse University to become an Electrical Engineer. He had his own business that would take him all around the country and on many adventures. In the early 1970s, Don travelled to Sitka, Alaska where he found and married the love of his life, Janet. Together for the next 48 years, they would travel and raise their blended family of six children: Donald, James, Victoria, Curtis, Jennifer, and Gregory. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfathe­r, and great grandfathe­r. Don’s greatest love was his family, and he was exceptiona­lly proud of his children and 12 grandchild­ren. He loved watching them grow into amazing adults and was delighted by their many accomplish­ments.

Don was a devout Baptist and active member of Dandridge First Baptist Church. He was also an avid golfer, fisher, and hunter. If Don wasn’t home, he could be found on the golf course or in the woods. Always outgoing and friendly, everywhere they lived, Don made lifelong friends.

Don is survived by his wife, Janet Hallock; son, Donald Hallock and wife, Nancy and their children, Jessica and Jack; son, James Walters and wife, Jamie and their sons Mario, Emilio, and Alexander; daughter, Victoria Thomas and husband, Todd and their sons Ethan and Jared; son, Curtis Walters and his son, Geran and his grandson, Bailey; daughter, Jennifer Gilbert and her daughters Kayla and Christie; and son, Gregory Walters and wife, Heidi and their children, Elijah and Hannah; and sisters, Virginia and Patricia. He was also very close to family friends, Traci Fugleberg and her daughter, Gracie. Don’s family will host a memorial service with full military honors at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 East Gov. John Sevier Highway, in Knoxville, on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10:00a.m. A celebratio­n of Don’s life will immediatel­y follow the service at Dandridge First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Don’s memory may be made to the Dandridge First Baptist Church, 951 TN-92, Dandridge, TN 37725, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
