Nellie Lee Bailey Drinkard

Nellie Lee Bailey Drinkard, a true embodiment of love and strength, went home to be with the Lord on August 25th, 2023 at age 70. Her legacy of warmth and kindness will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her. Nellie had a vibrant spirit and a heart of gold. She never missed an opportunity to lend a hand to someone in need or put a smile on their face. Anyone who knew Nellie can fondly recall her sarcastic quips as well as her magnetic and uplifting spirit. She is survived by her husband Stanley; children Dominique, Gabrielle, and Mark; granddaughter Calliope; her brothers Harold (Bernicestine), Emanuel (Linda), and Mark (Barbara); and her older sister Margaret as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Christopher, parents Harold and Odessa Bailey Sr. and brother Emory. Nellie will be deeply missed, but the memories of her will live on forever in those who knew and loved her. Nellie truly led a life filled with passion, purpose, and love. Her celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2714 Brooks Ave, Knoxville, TN 37914. There will be a visitation at 3:30pm and the service will begin at 4:30pm. The final resting place will be at the Sherwood Memorial Gardens 3176 Airport Hwy, Alcoa, TN 3770 on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. A dove release will conclude in her honor.
