Where BeyHivers can see Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ concert movie in Knoxville

- Devarrick Turner

Beyoncé has wrapped up the recordbreaking and critically acclaimed “Renaissance” world tour, but the shimmering silver dance party is not over. Fans who did not attend the Nashville show will get another chance to experience the cultural phenomenon right here in Knoxville – in movie theaters.

“Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” based on the tour hits theaters Dec. 1 in a partnership between AMC Entertainment and Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé’s media company.

“When I am performing, I am nothing but free. The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free, and no one is judged. You’re unique,” Beyoncé says in the movie’s trailer. “Start over, start fresh, create the new – that’s what the Renaissance is about.”

The movie includes concert footage from the tour’s 56 shows, portions of visuals from the “Renaissance” visual album, a behind-the-scenes look at the tour’s inception and its run, and candid moments with the singer’s husband Jay Z and their three children.

How do I watch ‘Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé’ in Knoxville?

Though the last AMC theater in Knoxville permanently closed earlier this year, the BeyHive can still see the “Renaissance” film in theaters in the city.

The concert film will be playing at all four Regal Cinemas in Knoxville. Regal Pinnacle also will have premium format screenings, including IMAX and RPX showtimes.

Tickets for all standard showings will start at $22. Prices increase to around $28 or more for premium screenings such as IMAX and the BigD screen at AMC theaters.

AMC Foothills 12 in Maryville is the closest AMC theater to the Knoxville area. Cinemark Tinsletown in Oak Ridge will also show “Renaissance.”

Tickets can be purchased through Regal, Cinemark, AMC and Fandango. Beyoncefilm.com also has ticketing information. Pre-sale tickets for Nov. 30 screenings are available at select theaters, including all Regal locations in Knoxville.

Diehard members of the BeyHive can splurge for AMC’s private theater viewing for up to 40 guests. Pricing and locations for this special viewing has not yet been released but will be posted on amctheatres.com.

“Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” is scheduled to screen Thursdays through Sundays at theaters for a minimum of four weeks. There will be multiple showtimes throughout the day. Runtime for the film is 2 hours and 40 minutes, according to AMC Theaters.

‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ concert film also comes to Knoxville

Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” film is the second concert film to be distributed by AMC Entertainment later this year. The “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” film hits theaters Oct. 13 and will run into November.

The film of the pop star’s performance at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles will be played at all four Regal Cinemas in Knoxville, AMC Foothills 12 and Cinemark Tinsletown in Oak Ridge.

AMC has announced Taylor Swift collectible items such as popcorn tubs and cups to accompany that film. Beyoncé -themed items could be announced, too.
