- Maria Adenike Dahunsi, 47 years, passed away on February 4, 2024
Maria was born in Jos, Plateau State Nigeria, on December 6, 1976, the 4th of 6 children of the late Elder Moses Adekojo Taiwo and Comfort Adewenu Taiwo – Nee Adeyemo Maria attended the Baptist Pre-School Religious Education Center (First Baptist Church Jos), Jos University Primary School, and ECWA Staff Secondary School, Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. She started her bachelor degree program at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi and proceeded to the University of Abuja to complete and earn a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Computer Science. Maria earned a Master of Science degree in Project Management with Distinction and Specializing in Information Technology from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. She was awarded the “Dissertation of the Year 2022” by the Senate of the University. She previously worked at the Police Service Commission, the Presidency in Nigeria as a Program Analyst before relocating to the US with her immediate family.
Maria confessed Jesus as her Lord and Saviour and was baptized in 1992. She devoted her lifetime to serving God and spreading the gospel. She loved bible study and will not miss her BSF group bible class on Wednesdays She is preceded in death by her late Moses Adekojo Taiwo Junior (brother) Moses Adekojo Taiwo (father) and Comfort Adewenu Taiwo–Nee Adeyemo (mother).
She is survived by Dr. Stephen O. A. Dahunsi (husband), Stephanie Oluwakorede Dahunsi (daughter), Sarah Ololade Dahunsi (daughter), Shane Oluwakolade Dahunsi (son). Ms. Lilly Rachael Taiwo (sister), Mrs. Grace Adebisi Adeleke (sister), Mrs. Adepeju Bankole (sister), and Ms. Elizabeth Oluwabunmi Taiwo (sister).
The family will host Visitation at Church Street United Methodist Church in the Parish Hall on Thursday, February 22nd from 5-6:30pm. The Funeral Service will begin in the Sanctuary at 7:00pm, with Rev. Tim Best officiating. We will meet at Edgewood Cemetery on Friday, February 23rd at 1:00pm for the Committal Service.
