You have more time to nominate Knoxville companies

Procrastinating? You have a little more time to nominate your business for the Knox News 2024 Top Workplaces awards.

You can nominate an organization through March 22. The deadline will not be extended past that date.

So far, more than 90 companies have signed up to participate.

This is the eighth year Knox News is partnering with survey firm Energage to recognize the East Tennessee businesses and organizations with outstanding company culture.

What is Top Workplaces?

Top Workplaces recognizes East Tennessee businesses, institutions and organizations that have created a healthy company culture. They understand the value of making work a great place for employees.

Businesses who win the Top Workplaces designation often use the award as a tool to recruit and retain employees. Think of it as great marketing for your business.

Survey firm Energage will anonymously survey employees of nominated businesses to find out what working there is really like. Only the companies with the most favorable reviews get to be named Top Workplaces.

What businesses in East Tennessee can win Top Workplaces?

Companies are eligible if they are public or private organizations, businesses, nonprofits or government institutions with more than 35 employees.

Nominees must have operations in Anderson, Blount, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Roane, Sevier or Union counties.

Participation is free. There’s no obligation to buy any product or service. Winners will earn the coveted gold Top Workplaces badge to display in the office and use in promotional materials.

Energage partners with media outlets in 65 metro areas to rank Top Workplaces. In 2023, the firm surveyed more than 2 million employees at more than 8,000 organizations.

Can I nominate a Knoxville-area business for Top Workplaces?

Anyone can nominate a business. Energage will send a 24-question anonymous and voluntary survey to the company’s employees. Employees can fill out surveys through April.

Knox News will announce the Knoxville-area Top Workplaces this summer on knoxnews.com and in a special section in the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Who won Knox News’ Top Workplaces 2023?

In 2023, Energage invited 900 area companies to participate and 91 of them were surveyed. Of those, a record 64 companies were named Top Workplaces based on the survey results.

Knox News celebrated its 2023 Top Workplaces in August.

Edfinancial Services took first place in the large category, Pinnacle Financial Partners won the midsize category, and Gresham Smith won the small category.
