Patti Elizabeth Duff Long

-

- Patti Elizabeth Duff Long left our world a little bit darker, and definitely less cheerful, when she passed away at home on April 12, 2024 in Knoxville, Tennessee surrounded by her family and dear friends. ALS is a brutal disease, and while it might have stolen her body, it never broke her faith, nor stole her spirit and inherent love of life. Patti was born on December 22, 1960 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to William Earl Duff and Bonnie Jean Galbraith who preceded her in death. She is survived by the love of her life, Tony Long; Samuel and Bonnie, their amazing children who Patti poured her life into, and were her absolute pride and joy; her bonus daughter Tonya (Long) Diaz, husband Alex and son Ethan who she loved deeply and dearly; her siblings Mark Duff, Nathan Duff, and Julie Duff and their families with whom she has so many memories; and dear extended family members, friends, colleagues, “hunches,” and other special folks far too numerous to name. Patti was rooted in her faith, never once met a stranger, and held tight to the communities she was part of throughout her life. A memorial service for Patti will happen at Redeemer Church of Knoxville on Saturday, April 20, at 1:00PM. The family will welcome friends and visitors immediately following the memorial service in the courtyard at The Point Church. This will conclude at 5:00PM. She did love flowers, but would also love it if you donated to the GoFundMe that has been set up to support the Long Family moving forward. To honor Patti’s memory, grab a paintbrush, unleash your creativity, enjoy a glass of white wine, and laugh until the tears flow. Most of all, keep a cheerful heart. Her presence on earth will be missed beyond measure. “Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-17
