KNOXVILLE - Mrs. Geraldine Grimes Scott

- Age 82, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away

Friday, April 26, 2024 with her family at her bedside. She was born

July 12, 1941 to the late Clifford Grimes and

Rosal Andrews Grimes.

She was preceded by her husband, John Herman

Scott, brothers, James Harper, Curtis Grimes, and Ira Grimes, Sr., sister, Vera Smith, and grandson, Brandon McCord. Mrs. Scott was a graduate Austin High School Class of 1960, retired from T. V. A., and was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors are her loving family, children, two daughters, TaWuna (Kenny Bell) McCord, Traci (Standford) Franklin; sons, Marty (Latonya Oatman) Scott, Randall (Margarett Rinehart) Davenport; grandchild­ren, Diedra Williams, Marcos ( Deanna) McCord, Britney (Stuart) Taylor, Kristal (Thomas) Franklin – White, Jasmin (Jonathan) Franklin – Tyler, Kelley S. Brown, John P. S. Brown, Aneesa Davenport; thirteen great grandchild­ren; goddaughte­r, Tanisha Grimes; sisters, Virginia Taylor, Maosa (Will Tom) Moore; brother, James Larry (Faye) Grimes; a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives; and her devoted friends, Jonnie Hill, Hildrith Gillespie, Emma Jordan, Sadie Grimes, Annette Bailey, and her church family. Geraline will forever be remembered for her boundless love, unwavering faith, and selfless devotion to others. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Homegoing Celebratio­n will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 11:00 A. M. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 1807 Dandridge Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37915 with Rev. LeRoy Franklin and other Ministers officiatin­g. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Knoxville National Cemetery, 939 Tyson Street, N. W., Knoxville, TN. Arrangemen­ts entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Dalton, Georgia and Unity Funeral Home, Knoxville, Tennessee.
