SPRING CITY - Charles E. “Charlie” Weaver age 87 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Life Care Center of Rhea County in Dayton, Tennessee. He was born on April 17, 1937 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Phillip and Elizabeth Myers Weaver and has been a resident of this area since 2001. Charlie was a graduate of Bearden High School and the University of Knoxville. He worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as an engineer for over 30 years. Charlie loved gardening, woodworkin­g, and ministerin­g to others. He was of the Church of God faith. Charlie is also preceded in death by his wife Marywill E. Weaver, sisters Pauline Carden, Mildred Greer, Dottie Liles, Deloris Ward, Doris Long, Mamie Maples, Clare McMahan, and Jean Mowery, and brother Bob Weaver. Survivors include his daughter Karen (Andy) Taylor of Spring City, Tennessee; his son Greg (Holly) Weaver of Acworth, Georgia; his six grandchild­ren and five great grandchild­ren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Shepherd and Rev. Paul Holt officiatin­g. The interment will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens in Knoxville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until the time of service.
