Francisco Treviño, President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce shared the details of the much anticipated event in an exclusive interview with La Semana.
“The first thing we have changed this year is the location of the event,” Treviño said. “We were all used to celebrating at the mall located at the 21st and 145th, but this year we will move to River Parks.”
“The idea is to bring more people in, have a diverse audience, and include the whole city in the colorful celebration, mainly to show the ties that Tulsa has with the Hispanic community,” Treviño explained.
The festival will offer a variety of activities and entertainment for all the family, this year also including a country music band.
Food is always essential, and the best Mexican dishes will be there for the delight of the most exquisite palates, while the little ones can enjoy a simulation of “la vecindad del chavo,” a popular Mexican show.
Be part of Cinco de Mayo, be part of Tulsa’s heritage.
The festival starts at 5 pm on May the 5th at Tulsa’s River West Festival Park and runs through May 7th. For a complete schedule and more information, visit http://tulsahispanicchamber.chambermaster.com/event s/details/5-de-mayofest-2017-1290 (La Semana)
