THD hosts a safe house clinic Nov. 16

Tulsa, OK - - On Fri­day, Nov. 16, the Tulsa Health De­part­ment (THD) will be host­ing a work­shop on safe hous­ing, which will be com­pletely free of charge and open to all the pub­lic.

If you own or rent a house it is im­por­tant to learn about your rights and re­spon­si­bil­i­ties. On this oc­ca­sion the staff of the THD will fo­cus on the min­i­mum se­cu­rity stan­dards with we have to com­ply while of­fer­ing hous­ing, in­clud­ing in­for­ma­tion on elec­tri­cal and me­chan­i­cal sup­plies, plumb­ing, safe heat­ing de­vices, amount of res­i­dents per house, and more.

The work­shop will sup­ply in­for­ma­tion on the in­ter­na­tional code of prop­erty main­te­nance, the law of own­ers and ten­ants of Ok­la­homa and the law of fair hous­ing, which pro­tects res­i­dents against dis­crim­i­na­tion.

If you want to at­tend this work­shop, or if you are a real­tor, apart­ment man­ager, owner, or ten­ant, do not hes­i­tate to par­tic­i­pate. The work­shop will be held on Novem­ber 16th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Wel­fare and Health Re­gional Cen­ter, lo­cated at 5635 N. MLK Jr. Blvd. 74126. This pro­gram is pre­sented by the En­vi­ron­men­tal Health Ser­vices Pro­gram at the THD and Le­gal Help Ser­vices Ok­la­homa.
