Social distance and cultural celebrations

- POR ANTONIO OTERO | BROKEN ARROW, OK

Broken Arrow, OK -- At the intersection of Cultural Celebration and Social Distance sits the City of Broken Arrow.

This year they will be celebrating their Cinco de Mayo with a mindful awareness that many people across the world have now made a part of their daily routine. In the era of COVID-19, many communities have altered or cancelled events, such is not the case for the city of Broken Arrow.

Considerable planning and preparation has gone into this year’s Cinco De Mayo Festivities. Erin Hoefner from the City of Broken Arrow’s Marketing department explained what precautions have been incorporated to bring a community together for a celebration of culture.

Erin and her colleagues outlined the logistics and weeks of planning that went into this year’s events.

A tremendous amount of planning had Erin and her team busy since around the Christmas holiday. Several weeks have been spent planning this event that celebrates the Hispanic Cultural experience and its Hispanic community.

Fun for the whole family, and much needed enjoyment for an entire city.

This year’s Cinco de Mayo celebration will be held on May 8th beginning at 2pm and will end at 9pm. Please do join the city of Broken Arrow as they host a day of cultural celebration.

We extend a special thank you to the City of Broken Arrow Chamber of commerce, and its very supportive list of sponsors and vendors. (La Semana)
