Chiefs to host record setting fourth straight AFC Championship

Kansas City took care of business against the Bills Sunday, with some help from the Bengals they're about to make playoff history

The Kansas City Chiefs took on the Buffalo Bills for the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday night. It was an electric game that was hard fought to the very end, and then kept going.

Now, the Chiefs are about to make even more playoff history. Not only was the Bills matchup a high-stakes one and done playoff game, but home-field advantage for the winner was guaranteed.

The Cincinnati Bengals did the second seeded Chiefs a huge favor Saturday night by knocking the one seed, the Tennessee Titans, out of the AFC playoffs. A tight game ended with late heroics from Cincinnati's rookie kicker Evan Mcpherson, to give the Bengals the win.

Thanks to the rookie, the Chiefs now once again find themselves hosting the AFC Championship.

The Chiefs are now hosting the AFC Championship Game for the fourth straight year, which has never happened in NFL history.

The Patriots from 2011 to 18, The Raiders from 1973 to 77 and the Bills from 1990 to 93 are the only other teams to make at least four-consecutive AFC Championship Game appearances. However, only Kansas City has hosted the title game for four in a row.

The Chiefs early 2021 stumbles led to the Titans taking home the one seed and the first round bye. And yet, the Chiefs once again find themselves in control of their playoff destiny and one game away from a third straight Super Bowl.
