CATE BLANCHETT RECIBIRÁ EL PRIMER GOYA INTERNACIONAL to Receive Spanish Film Academy’s Inaugural International Goya Award

Este premio le será entregado a Blanchett, quien próximamente se pondrá a las órdenes del director español Pedro Almodóvar, por «ser una figura extraordinaria del cine mundial” y «una actriz que ha interpretado personajes inolvidables que ya son parte de nuestra memoria y de nuestro presente».

Ganadora de dos Oscar, a la Mejor Actriz por Blue Jasmine de Woody Allen y a Mejor Actriz de Reparto por The Aviator de Martin Scorsese, además de tres Globos de Oro, tres BAFTA y tres Premios del Sindicato de Actores, es uno de los talentos más reclamados por la industria y respetados y queridos por amantes del cine de todo el mundo.

Actualmente se encuentra embarcada en la preproducción de la serie Disclaimer, dirigida por Alfonso Cuarón para Apple+, que protagonizará y de la que será productora ejecutiva y acaba de terminar el rodaje de TAR, de Todd Field que también produce y protagoniza– y la versión de Guillermo del Toro de Pinocho, para Netflix.on y Jason Statham como protagonistas.

Recién estrenadas y en cartelera tiene actualmente Nightmare Alley, también de Del Toro, y la cinta Dont’look Up, de Adam Mckay, que se puede ver en Netflix.

The Spanish Film Academy announced on Friday that its first-ever International Goya Award will be received by Cate Blanchett.

Currently presided by Mariano Barroso, the Spanish Film Academy created the award to “honor artists that have contributed to cinema as a medium that brings together different cultures and people.” In Friday’s announcement, Blanchett was recognized for her impactful work both on and off the screen worldwide — as an award-winning actor, producer, artistic director and humanitarian. She will receive the award at a gala ceremony on Feb. 12 in Valencia, Spain.

Blanchett has earned two Oscars, three BAFTAS and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. The Australian actor’s recent film credits include Guillermo del Toro’s “Nightmare Alley” and “Don’t Look Up.” Other credits over the years include “Carol,” “Blue Jasmine,” “The Aviator,” and “Elizabeth.” Over the course of her career, she has collaborated with many prominent filmmakers — including Adam Mckay, Steven Soderbergh, Anthony Minghella, Sally Potter, Wes Anderson and Ridley Scott.
