La Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (Conmebol) anunció que aumentó el premio para el campeón de la Recopa, que enfrenta al ganador de la Sudamericana y el de la Libertadores, que ahora se llevará 1.600.000 dólares.

La Recopa Sudamericana, que tuvo su primera edición en 1989, la disputarán los brasileños Palmeiras -campeón de la Copa Libertadores 2021- y el Athletico Paranaense, que se alzó con el título de la Sudamericana.
