LOS ÁNGELES.- Un nuevo álbum de la reina del estilo tex-mex Selena Quintanilla saldrá a la venta probablemente el próximo mes, 27 años después de su trágica muerte, anunció el padre de la cantante, Abraham Quintanilla.

El álbum tendrá 13 canciones grabadas por la artista antes de su deceso y con nuevos arreglos de su hermano A.B. Quintanilla, explicó el padre de la cantante en una entrevista con Latin Groove News.

Una de las canciones fue grabada por Selena cuando tenía 13 años, pero su hermano actualizó digitalmente su voz para que suene justo como estaba antes de su muerte, explicó Quintanilla.

Añadió que Suzette Quintanilla, hermana de Selena, ayudó a diseñar la carátula del álbum y resaltó que no solo la música del álbum es nueva, sino que «los arreglos son completamente nuevos», lo que le dará un toque muy moderno a la música de la cantante, que murió con 23 años.

«Si lo escuchas, suena en este disco como lo hacía justo antes de fallecer», en marzo de 1995, agregó.

«Selena se ha ido hace (más de) 26 años… Lo que me asombra a mí, a Suzette, a mi familia, es que el público todavía recuerda a Selena. No la han dejado ir. Están esperando un proyecto», resaltó Quintanilla en la entrevista.

«Me gusta que salga esto, y sé que será bien recibido por el público», agregó sobre el disco, que será lanzado por Warner Music.

Se espera que el lanzamiento del álbum, con canciones que forman parte del catálogo de Q Productions, sea lanzado el próximo 16 de abril, cuando la cantante hubiera cumplido 50 años.

Selena fue honrada por los premios Grammy con un galardón a la trayectoria el año pasado.
