- By PRINCESS SCOTT

Whatsapp, a widely used instant messaging platform owned by Meta, has always been innovating and launching new features for a better user experience.

Last year, the company launched several new features in order to enhance the user’s security. Some of these are the Community feature, Message Yourself, and See profile photos of individuals and groups.

This year, Whatsapp is likely to launch several new features that will enhance the voice, video, and message quality for users. According to 91Mobiles, the company has already been testing some of the features that it is going to launch on beta users.

It won’t be long before we see these new features roll out in Whatsapp. In this article, we have listed some of the new Whatsapp features that the company may release this year.

Companion Mode

Currently, when you are using Whatsapp, you cannot log in with

the same account on multiple phones. This is one of the issues of Whatsapp. Now, with the upcoming “Companion mode,” this could change. According to 91Mobiles, users will be able to link their existing Whatsapp account or mobile number with additional phones.

View Once Text

As the name of the new feature suggests, View Once will allow you to send a text-based message that will automatically be deleted once the recipient opens and reads it.

Whatsapp Business Directory

Using the Whatsapp business directory, you will be able to find and connect with businesses based on various categories and niches. The categories include restaurants, grocery stores, automobile services, and more.

Call Tab on Whatsapp Desktop

Since Whatsapp is mostly used for video calls and group calls, the company decided to introduce a dedicated call tab for its desktop app, according to Mint. To provide you with up-to-date calling history, the call log will sync with the phone in real time.

Picture-in-picture for Video Calls on IOS

For over a few months, Whatsapp users on Android have been using Picture-in-picture mode. The good news is the same functionality could soon arrive on iphones. This means that if you are an IOS user, you will be able to browse through other apps while minimizing the video call into a small interface. Using PIP for video calls, you can multitask with ease.
