Natación en el dique El Jumeal / Swimming at El Jumeal Dam
San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, es una ciudad del norte argentino perteneciente a la provincia de Catamarca, la población está situada en un hermoso y verde valle en medio de las montañas. Dentro de ella se encuentra el dique El Jumeal, uno de los tantos de la provincia, alimentado por las transparentes aguas del río El Tala. Pero con la particularidad de ser el único dentro de la misma, a tan sólo unos cuantos minutos del centro. Es un espejo de agua con lora y fauna autóctonas como el pato biguá, gallaretas, garzas y benteveos, entre tantas otras.
Desde hace más de un año un grupo de nadadores coincidieron en la misma pasión, entre ellos; Guillermo, Julio César, Dante, Iván, Federico, Alejandro, Flavio, Diana, Marina, Georgina, Virginia; y muchos más que tarde a tarde se fueron sumando, forjando desde la nada, sólo por su amor al dique y la natación “El Club Nadadores Unidos Catamarca”, dando vida y oportunidad a los vecinos del lugar de disfrutar y practicar el deporte acuático, natación en aguas abiertas, kayakismo, canotaje, entre otros de ellos.
Informándonos que para la próxima luna llena, la noche del 27 de enero, están organizando la primera competencia de postas nocturna.
Las postas serán de 5 x 1000.
Con una sola categoría de edad y equipos mixtos, sólo dos mujeres por equipo. Es obligatorio para todos los participantes el uso de torpedo salvavidas con luz led incluida. Los ganadores se llevarán premios en efectivo.
También, la organización del club está preparando una grata sorpresa para coronar esa noche y así todos los espectadores sean premiados con la visita y demostración del equipo de la selección argentina de saltos, que mostraran al público su destreza y capacidad, saltando desde la casilla.
Será una noche inolvidable bajo el brillo de la luna en El Jumeal. (La Semana)
San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca is a city in the north of Argentina, belonging to the province of Catamarca. The population is situated in a beautiful, green valley amidst the mountains. Within the city is the El Jumeal Dam, one of many in the province, fed by the clear waters of the El Tala River. However, it is unique for being the only one within the city itself, just a few minutes from the center. It is a body of water with native flora and fauna, including the neotropic cormorant, moorhens, herons, and great kiskadees, among many others.
For more than a year, a group of swimmers sharing the same passion have gathered here, including Guillermo, Julio César, Dante, Iván, Federico, Alejandro, Flavio, Diana, Marina, Georgina, Virginia, and many more who joined over time. They formed from scratch, driven solely by their love for the dam and swimming, the “El Club Nadadores Unidos Catamarca,” bringing life and opportunities to local residents to enjoy and practice water sports such as open water swimming, kayaking, and canoeing.
We are informed that for the next full moon, on the night of January 27, they are organizing the first night-time relay race.
The relays will be 5 x 1000 meters.
There will be only one age category with mixed teams, limited to two women per team. The use of a life-saving torpedo with an integrated LED light is mandatory for all participants. The winners will receive cash prizes.
Additionally, the club's organization is preparing a pleasant surprise to crown the night, rewarding all spectators with a visit and demonstration by the Argentine national diving team. They will showcase their skill and ability by jumping from the tower.
It will be an unforgettable night under the moonlight at El Jumeal. (La Semana)
