THE CHALLENGES o4 Checo Pérez in 2024

- By Sergio Mancilla

The Red Bull driver is on long tablecloths before starting a new Formula 1 season.

Sergio Pérez is celebrating this Friday, January 26, because today he is celebrating his birthday. 'Checo' turns 34 a few months after the start of the 2024 Formula 1 season where he will seek to increase his legend in Mexican motorsport.

Winning the renovation with Red Bull

The pressure on 'Czech' Pérez will be more present than ever. The tapatío only subtracts this season from the contract with Red Bull, so at any moment its continuity will be questioned if the results do not arrive. Faced with this, Pérez's main task is to start the campaign in a great way and sustain it to quickly earn the renewal with his current team. Christian Horner himself has mentioned that the extension, at least until 2025, depends exclusively on the pilot himself.

Regularity

To reach that renewal, 'Czech' must be regular throughout the 24 races. In 2023, Sergio started the year in a great way with two victories in the Irst four GPS, however, the Mexican could not sustain that level and was falling as the development of the car progressed. Now the story must change.

Improve on Saturdays

One of the keys to being regular is to be at a high level on qualifying days. Saturdays are the weak point of Sergio Pérez, who with a car like

Red Bull's can't afford to stay out of Q3. Getting the top positions in the starting row will be vital to not suffer on Sundays and be more constantly on the podium.

Being closer to Max Verstappen

The proximity to Max Verstappen both on the track and in points is fundamental for Pérez. If 'Czech' manages to be close to his teammate automatically, doubts about his environment will be resolved and Red Bull will be closer again to getting the constructors' title.

When is the 2024 'Checo' Pérez car presented?

It will be next Thursday, February 15, when Red Bull presents the car it will use in 2024.
