PAPA Y MILEI SE SALUDARON CON ABRAZO TRAS CANONIZACIÓN DE «MAMA ANTULA»

CIUDAD DEL VATICANO.- El papa Francisco y el presidente de Argentina, Javier Milei, muy crítico en el pasado con el pontí ce, se saludaron hoy domingo con un abrazo al nal de la misa de canonización de la primera santa argentina, María Antonia de Paz y Figueroa, conocida popularmente como «Mama Antula».
Una vez terminada la eucaristía en la basílica de San Pedro del Vaticano, el pontípce argentino fue llevado en silla de ruedas por sus problemas de rodilla hasta el lugar en el que el mandatario había seguido la misa, a su derecha, en primera Pla ante un reclinatorio.
En ese momento Milei le estrechó la mano y llegó a darle un abrazo, conversando ambos entre risas durante unos instantes.
Esta misa brindó el primer encuentro entre ambos después de que Milei durante la campaña electoral que le llevó el pasado diciembre a la Casa Rosada le calipcara como «el representante del maligno en la tierra», entre otros descaliPcativos.
No obstante Francisco restó importancia a sus palabras y de hecho le telefoneó para felicitarle por su victoria electoral.
El político ultraderechista también ha rebajado notablemente el tono y ayer mismo en una entrevista en Radio Mitre le ensalzó como «el argentino más importante de la historia», esperando mantener con él un «diálogo muy fructífero».
Esta mañana estaba previsto un breve y protocolario saludo entre ambos en la sacristía vaticana, del que no ha trascendido información, mientras que mañana mantendrán una audiencia privada en el Palacio Apostólico, a puerta cerrada a partir de las 9:30 horas locales (8:30 GMT).

Pope Francis and the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, very critical of the pontiff in the past, greeted each other this Sunday with a hug in the Vatican, at the end of the canonization mass of the Grst Argentine saint, María Antonia de Paz and Figueroa, popularly known as “Mama Antula”.
Once the Eucharist was over in St. Peter’s Basilica, Francis was taken in a wheelchair, due to his knee problems, to the place where the president had followed the mass.
Milei shook his hand and even gave him a hug. The two had a brief exchange of words, laughing.
This mass provided the Grst meeting between the two after Milei, during the electoral campaign, described the pope as “the representative of evil on earth,” among other disqualigcations, such as “imbecile” and “disgusting lefthander.”
