Charlo e wants to break an MLS record for Luciano Rodríguez

- By Eduardo Burgos Rodríguez

The 'Minted' will try to close Luciano Rodríguez's transfer for a record amount for MLS. He was about to leave for Europe last January.

The MLS continues to take steps to become the most important league on the continent and one of the most important in the world. After getting the services of some of the most important young South American prospects, such as Pedro de la Vega, Thiago Almada, Facundo Farías or 'Toto' Avilés, the league now focuses on the jewel of the Uruguay U20 world champion, Luciano Rodríguez.

According to The Athletic,

Charlotte FC would have gotten into the long list of suitors of the Liverpool striker from Montevideo. The Minted's idea would be to close Luciano's sale and make him the most expensive signing in the history of MLS. In addition, the media points out that the player would be open to a change of air to the United States after his landing in Europe last January during the Pre-olympic.

As AS has already advanced, Luciano Rodríguez was about to leave Uruguay in the last transfer window. Two clubs bid very hard for him: Elfeyenoord and River Plate. The Uruguayan board valued its striker at 15 million dollars along with a percentage of future sale (rated between 15 and 20%). Although the offer of the Argentines was the one that most convinced all parties, both because of the conditions (eight million for 50% of the pass), Dnally the operation did not end up being fruitful.

Currently, Liverpool does not need to get rid of its star thanks to the management of the current board of directors. Sources close to the club claim that Luciano would only leave for a price close to the amount ordered last January. It is expected that both teams along with others will return to the charge for Rodríguez next summer, if before Charlotte does not manage to get ahead of her competitors.
