FIFA dio a conocer que México cuenta con más logros importantes que lo deynen como una cuna para fomentar este deporte, siendo el país con más futbolistas y más equipos profesionales en todo el mundo.

Según lo señalado por el Professional Football Report 2023 de la FIFA, México es el país con más jugadores profesionales a nivel mundial. Esto fue señalado luego de los resultados obtenidos de una encuesta realizada entre sus 211 miembros de futbol varonil.

Asimismo, el organismo señala que hay registrados en el mundo 128,694 jugadores profesionales en 3,986 clubes de 135 países, y México lidera en futbolistas y en clubes.

No obstante, esto no es todo, pues según las estadísticas que comparte la FIFA, en México hay cerca de 9,464 futbolistas a nivel profesional. Esta es una marca muy superior a la que se encuentra por encima de los 8,560 de España y los 5,582 de Inglaterra. Almismo tiempo, existen 244 clubes mexicanos profesionales, mientras que en segundo lugar se encuentra Turquía con 136 y luego Argentina con 118.
