TULSA, OK -- In a comprehensive study focused on the mental and physical well-being of Americans, Oklahoma has been identited as the sixth-most stressed state in the nation. The research, conducted by Onyx Behavioral Health, utilized data from the CDC’S Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System to compile its rankings.

The study places West Virginia at the top of the list as the most stressed state, with an average stress level of 19.65%. On the opposite end, Hawaii claims the title of the least stressed state, boasting a lower average stress level of 10.50%.

Oklahoma's placement is attributed to 18.10% of its adult population reporting signitcant mental distress and 14.20% reporting physical distress over a majority of the past month, culminating in an average stress level of 16.15%.

Notably, the report highlights West Virginia's particularly high distress rates, with 21.10% of its citizens facing frequent mental distress and 18.20% encountering physical distress. Following closely are Arkansas and Tennessee, with average stress levels of 18.95% and 17.90% respectively, based on similar criteria.

Louisiana and Alabama round out the top Tve, showcasing the widespread nature of stress across different demographics and geographies within the United States.

The study further details that the national average for Americans suffering from frequent mental distress stands at 15.90%, with physical distress at a slightly lower rate of 12.40%, averaging out to 14.15%.

A spokesperson from Onyx Behavioral Health commented on the results, noting a discernible increase in both mental and physical distress across the US compared to previous years. This uptick is thought to be in3uenced by various factors, including the rising cost of living and global tensions. The spokesperson emphasized the importance of tracking these trends to understand the evolving landscape of American mental and physical health.

This research sheds light on the critical issue of stress management and the need for effective support and resources across the United States, as well as the dynamic nature of stress factors in3uencing the nation's wellbeing. (La Semana)
