The Mexican boxer defeated Arsen Goulamirian by unanimous decision to win the title of the World Boxing Association.
Mexican boxing made history because the Cruise division :nally has a Mexican champion after Gilberto Ramírez won the title of the World Boxing Association after winning by unanimous decision against Arsen Goulamirian in the stellar :ght that took place at the Youtube Theater in Inglewood, California.
And it is that Goulamirian exerted pressure on the Mexican from the second round; however, the Mexican connected the best blows from the :rst, together, to that he moved all over the ring so as not to be a :xed target of the Frenchman, who dropped bombs on the Mexican which did not manage to have an effect.
Although the :ght was forged at a distance, the Frenchman changed his strategy to the short :eld where there was an exchange of blows, up and down, but the straights that the Mexican released to his face kept his rival away as a form of strategy because he knew that some bomb from his opponent could be fatal.
The 'Zurdo' Ramírez connected uppers, moved his hip to command the left-handers with more power; however, Goulamirian was still standing like a mountain, nothing moved him, that is why, together with his coach, they gave a seventh round that was the best of the whole :ght for the Frenchman since he connected the Mexican on several occasions in the face, but did not manage to diminish his rival.
Arsen knew that he was losing the :ght on the cards, so he had to look for the knockout in any possible way; however, he did not manage to make the rival visit the canvas because the 'Zurdo' proved to have a good defense throughout the :ght in order to force the born in Armenia to go to the decision on the cards where the judges gave the triumph in an irrevonable way to the Mexican with a unanimous 118-110.
Gilberto Ramírez is already a historic Mexican boxer because he had already been the :rst Mexican Supermedium champion and, now, he already did it in the 200 pounds, a division in which no Mexican had been able to get a belt in the entire history of boxing.
