Fernando Alonso is the big threat to Checo Perez... and Verstappen

- By MIGUEL SANZ

Fernando, the only champion without a contract and a piece quoted for years for Horner, the boss of Red Bull, who now has him as a replacement for Verstappen or even Czech... and as a measure of pressure

With each passing day, and except for the unexpected turn of the events in the 'affaire' with the employee (with a civil court involved, for example), Christian Horner seems to win the bloody battle within the Red Bull team against the Austrian faction of the Marko-verstappen. And it also coincides with the starting signal that you can hear how the interest in Alonso grows, and that it is also well heard. Even in the Dutch Telefgraaf.

The Spaniard is the preferred candidate of the current 'single boss', who has the unconditional support of Thai majority shareholders and even Verstappen already knows it. This is said by the usual marauders of the Austrian team, based in England. They assure it in the Dutch media with a direct link from the Verstappen, that Fernando and Christian Horner have had a "conversation would be without Marko being in the way."

Even Ralf Schumacher says it. "Horner has always been a great admirer of him. It seems that he has serious intentions to sign Alonso for next year, to have another strong driver if Verstappen leaves the team," words that acquire value due to the usual bad tone that the 'brother' has with the Asturian.

"There are these rumors and the sources are quite good," he adds. "If Red Bull gave him a car with which he could win... of course Alonso would want it! And it has already been seen what he has done this weekend, how fast it has been, how he changed gears, how he prevented Russell from overtaking him .... He knows what he wants and I think he would :t well." A lot of Ralf suddenly.

All at once, many different voices, too much coincidence. All just when Raymond Vermeulen, Max's manager, had dinner with the company's Thai majority shareholder, Chalerm Yoovidhya, in Australia to insist apparently already that the Dutchman would leave if Christian

follows. And apparently he got the shot in the back because they still trust Horner... and the Alonso swell grew again with Briatore shaking the tree in several Italian and German media after Albert Park's appointment.

Aston Martin's rapid move towards Adrian Newey, the millionaire bid in Arabia, to be a real great at the height of the three tenors (Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull) also sounds like a demonstration of power for Fernando to see that the project has not stopped, it continues upwards, the ambition remains intact. It's just that Newey doesn't seem to move if Horner doesn't either.

So Horner plays a winning card, that of Fernando, his friend and admirer of Newey, a win-win with which he shows the Verstappen clan that he already has de facto, or he could have the total command, free hand to sign without consultation (a warm ground always with Marko as head of the Academy) and that in addition, if he does not want to continue, he has a champion who still seems to run at 20 years older than with 40. And that suddenly he would :nd a winning car in 2025 to look for the three-time championship.
