'Checo' conquered his rst podium in China

- By Sergio Mancilla

The Tapatío pilot took the podium with a somewhat bittersweet third place.

Sergio Pérez won his fourth podium of the season by @nishing in third place in the Chinese Grand Prix. A somewhat bittersweet result for 'Czech' who lost the second position between bad luck for a pair of safety cars and also who suffered a little with the hard tire that Red Bull bet.

The race for 'Czech' did not start quite well when he lost a position in the start. The Mexican started second but was quickly surprised by Fernando Alonso who from the outside of turn 1 grabbed him to take away that second place for the moment.

Immediately Pérez went to regain his place and in the @fth round he managed to complete the base on an Alonso who could no longer put much resistance.

In turn 14, Red Bull sent its pilots to call. The Mexican went from the middle to the hard and went on the track in sixth place, behind Sainz. Pérez really had a hard time setting that tire in temperature because it took him a while to overtake the Spaniard. Safety Car changed the race

In turn 21, a failure in Bottas' car caused the @rst safety car of the race and that's where 'Czech' began to lose his aspirations for second place. Norris and Leclerc were the most bene@ted because they bet on a stop and the play came out.

The track assistants took a long time to remove Bottas' car, so Red Bull chose to have its drivers called again. Pérez received other hard tires. The race was relaunched but again stopped due to incidents between Stroll, Ricciardo, Tsunoda and Magnussen. Finally, after the mess, the green ag was put on lap 32 with Pérez in fourth place.

Already in the last stint 'Checo' was only enough to beat Leclerc, because Norris made a great career with a superb tire management. Thus Pérez won third place in the race by climbing the podium for the @rst time in China and maintaining second place in the world championship for drivers.
