Hospice offers free 8-week bereavement course
Hospice Services of Lake County is offering a new, free course to assist individuals dealing with the death of loved ones. The weekly meetings will begin Jan. 21, and sessions will be conducted online via the Zoom platform.
Recognizing there is not a single way to go through grief, Hospice Services of Lake County’s bereavement program will present “The Journey of Grief,” a free, eight-week grief and loss group course Thursdays, 2 to 4 p.m.
The series of meetings will be provided using the Zoom platform and is intended for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one recently or in the past. Agency staff and volunteers are eager to coach group participants in how to use Zoom for these meetings.
Upcoming group sessions are structured with combined instruction and discussion in a safe environment, presented by specially trained Hospice staff and volunteer facilitators. During the sessions, education will be provided about grief, mourning, what is “normal,” and support toward healing.
