The Lake County Farm Bureau (LCFB) is proud to announce the selection of the newly hired Executive Director, Rebecca Harper. Harper is a recent alumna of Oklahoma State University, having earned her Bachelors of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources in the department of animal science. She is also an alumna of Upper Lake High School and a lifelong resident of Lake County.
During her time at Oklahoma State University, Harper was a recipient of many honors including a distinguished leadership award presented by the president of the university in response to Harper's work as a career liaison, counseling other university students in their professional pursuits. Rebecca was also the recipient of a highly prestigious scholarship awarded to only six collegiate students nationwide known as the Trans Ova Genetics Scholarship for outstanding performance in genetics related academia and research. Throughout her time at Oklahoma State University, Harper enjoyed judging local and state level FFA career development events, participating in meat and livestock judging exercises, as well as working with local agricultural associations including the Oklahoma Collegiate Farm Bureau, Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association, and the Oklahoma Pork Council. Harper looks forward to serving Lake County and its Farm Bureau members. She is excited to strengthen agricultural ties within the county as well as foster meaningful relationships within the community. Some of her goals include growing the membership of LCFB and developing opportunities for the agricultural community and the youth of Lake County. She is passionate about the agriculture industry as well as the Lake County community, both of which make her a great asset to Lake County Farm Bureau.
Lake County Farm Bureau is proud to serve the agricultural and rural interests of Lake County and is the county's largest farm organization, representing over 550 farm families and individual members.
