George Williams Gibson Born

November 16, 1954. Died July 29, 2022 George was born to Gerald and Lois Gibson in Quantico, Virginia. He had an older brother, Brandon, and later a younger sister, Jane.

He lived on both the east coast and west coast of the United States as the family moved around following the military career of his father. The family settled in Walnut Creek after his father’s retirement from the Marines.

George graduated from Ignacio Valley High School and in 1972, George enlisted in the Marine Corps. After his military discharge, he went on to college and then to Western State Law School and earned his law degree in 1978.

George practiced law in Southern California and the Bay Area before coming to Lake County to be a Public Defender and then to open his own private practice in Family Law.

In Lake County, George found the love of his life in Gail Shaw Martin. They were married on March 17, 1990 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Lakeport. At the time of his death, they had been married for 32 wonderful years.

After retiring from his law practice, George pursued one of his many passions and obtained his Certificat­e in Culinary Arts from Yuba College. George continued to show his love for others with his cooking and baking until he died. George was an animal lover all his life and his animals adored him.

George was predecease­d by his parents and in-laws Muriel and William Shaw. George is survived by his loving wife Gail, step-son Chris Martin and fiancee Stacy Jensen, his brother Brandon
