Lake County Women's Civic Club fall season updates
The Lake County Women's Civic Club (LCWCC) is starting fall out with a buzz of activity. The October 7 luncheon welcomed several guests, some new and returning members as well as guest speaker, Lauri Fisher from Lake Links who spoke to the group about their mission to facilitate transportation for elderly and disabled individuals to doctor appts, grocery shopping, etc.
The November 4 luncheon meeting at the Riviera Hills Restaurant will feature Julie Kelley, founder of Sponsoring Survivorship, a Lake County organization that provides support to local men and women who are battling breast cancer. She will be presented with a check for $750 from LCWCC to support their efforts in our community. In addition to the donation to Sponsoring Survivorship, the LCWCC will be presenting Lake County Vet Connect with a donation of $500 which will help them provide services and resources to Lake County veterans.
These donations are made possible through the efforts of club members with fund-raising events during the year. The club's next important event will be the annual Lake County Women's Civic Club Craft Fair and Bake Sale on November 5 at the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church at 5340 3rd Street and will feature over 20 local vendors who will have handmade arts and crafts available for sale from 9 am to 3 p.m. A variety of delicious homemade baked goods will also be available for sale.
The LCWCC is a nonprofit group of volunteer women who work to make Lake County a better place for all citizens. Their philanthropic efforts provide scholarships to local students as well as many other donations to service groups in the area. For more information about LCWCC call Helen Finch at 707-9721807.
