Prelim hearing for Clearlake Oaks man to be heard this week
A Clearlake Oaks man faces charges of attempted murder and assault after he is suspected of involvement with a shooting near Austin Park.
Treyvon Lashawn Jones was present and not in custody for a recent master calendar call hearing.
The Court confirmed this case for a preliminary hearing this week that will be heard by Judge Lunas.
At the request of defense attorney Michael Levinsohn, witness Daniela Marquez, who was present in court, was ordered to be present at the preliminary hearing.
During a hearing in January, the Court met with counsel in chambers; finding that there were discovery issues necessary to the defense that needed to be resolved.
At that time there were no objections to the defense's request for a continuance.
In October of last year, the defendant entered a not guilty to the charges, denying the special allegations.
If convicted, the defendant faces two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with firearm on person and discharging a firearm in a negligent manner.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred last September when Clearlake Police responded to the 14000 block of Uhl Avenue, which is near Austin Park.
Upon investigation, it was determined that numerous subjects were involved in an altercation, which resulted in a shooting.
Three suspects fled the scene and there were no reported injuries regarding the shooting.
Probable cause to either arrest or obtain arrests warrants for the three suspects was obtained due to the investigation.
There has been on juvenile suspect arrested while another juvenile has not been arrested as of yet.
The third adult suspect, Treyvon Lashawn Jones, 26 of Clearlake Oaks was identified and arrested in October of last year at his residence. Jones was booked at the Lake County Jail for attempted homicide.
The defendant has since bailed out and no longer remains at the Lake County Jail.
