The Middletown High School golf team extended its hold on the Coastal Mountain Conference's South Division with a resounding 56 stroke victory over runner-up Technology High School in Wednesday's weekly tournament at the Foxtail South Golf Course in Rohnert Park. Middletown continued its season of perfection in the five team CMC South, and extended its hold on the top spot to seven games.

The golfing Mustangs were led by Dom Williams who carded an eight over par 80 at Foxtail South. Williams' teammate Cooper Johnson added an 82 to the MHS total while Blake Costlow turned in a score of 85. Costlow has knee surgery pending and played his round with a brace on his knee. Bodhi Moore added a 91 to the Middletown team total of 338. Through four weeks of tournament play, Middletown sits atop the league standings with a 16-0 record.

Technology High School came in second place on its home course and was led by Sebastian Maurice with a score of 91. Teammate Sam O'Halloran posted a 95 and Dilyan Lopez added a 98. Tech High's team total was 394 and they jumped into a tie for second place with St. Helena with a 9-7 record. St. Helena High School has an incomplete score as they had less than four golfers compete and were unable to turn in a team score. St. Helena was led by Ethan Peterson who matched Dom Williams' low score of the day with an 80. Sonoma Academy turned in a team score of 408 due to the efforts of Keaton Scerri who shot a 93 and Eli Goldberg who posted a 97. Sonoma Academy is now 5-11 after four weeks. Kelseyville High School carded a team total of 457. The golfing Knights were led by Ethan Gambill's 109 and Adam Astrup's 110. Nate Sherman shot a 116 while Caleb Lopez posted a 122. Andrew Nave shot a 129. Kelseyville is now 1-15 on its season.

The day in Rohnert Park started out quite pleasantly with a light breeze and temperatures in the mid 60s. However as the day went on conditions turned more difficult with strong winds, overcast skies, and temperatures dropping into the high 40s as a prelude to the impending storms that hit Northern California later in the week.

The Coastal Mountain Conference resumes play next Thursday at Hidden Valley Lake just north of Middletown. The shot-gun start at HVL is scheduled for 1:30pm.
