Phillips, Paco-Pedroni lead sweep by swimming teams at Bakersfiel­d

UNLV’s swimming and diving teams swept a dual meet Saturday at Cal State Bakersfiel­d, with the men winning 155143 and the women cruising 181-119.

The Rebels won seven individual events and split the relays in men’s action. The women had 10 winners and swept the relays, led by Kyndal Phillips, who placed first in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke­s and the 100 butterfly.

On the men’s side, Tom Paco-Pedroni won the 100 and 200 freestyles.

WOMEN’S TENNIS: At Fertitta Tennis Complex, sophomore Jovana Kenic posted two wins to advance to the Flight Two singles final of the Freeman Memorial. Senior Carol Yang and freshman En-Pei Huang lost 7-6 to the nation’s second-ranked doubles team from North Carolina.
