JERRY SEARLES
Jerry Dean Searles, of Las Vegas, passed away at 2:40 p.m. September 3, 2017, in Sturgis, S.D., due to complications associated with double pneumonia. Jerry was born April 11, 1951. Jerry is survived by his brother, Mike Searles; Jerry’s fiancé, of 40 years, Donna Loker; her five children, who Jerry raised as his own, Paul, Joe, Walt, Eric and Kim; and his beloved Yorkie. Jerry’s biggest interests centered around motorcycles, motorcycle touring, guns and the Second Amendment. He biked throughout the United States and looked forward to summering in Sturgis, S.D. every year. Jerry was known as the "Slow Riding Champion" in many motorcycle circles. Jerry was everyone’s "go to guy." Jerry was mechanically and technically gifted and was always there to help friends and family. Jerry had a phenomenal work ethic. Though retired from Caesar’s since 2011, he spent his days maintaining his motorcycles and properties to keep them in pristine condition. He is so loved by his fiance, Donna, and he will be greatly missed. Donna shares, "Jerry was ’My Guy’ and took such good care of me always, I will always love you Jerry with all my heart." Jerry’s friends are so geographically dispersed and the family wants everyone to have opportunity to remember Jerry. The family asks that those who loved Jerry please “celebrate his life” by taking a day to engage in an activity that Jerry loved, motorcycles, guns, technology, fantasy theater, gadgets, etc. Jerry will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, S.D. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local animal charities.
