Kimberly Ann Platko (nee Gross) peacefully passed away September 21, 2017, with her family by her side, at the age of 59, from cancer, at Mountain View Hospital, in Las Vegas. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Brett; and her children, Dane and Aleksandra (Rosie). Kimberly is mourned by her father, William A. Gross of Las Vegas; sisters, Carol McGill of Parachute, Colorado, Lauren Wells of Baltimore, Maryland, and Diane Jezierski of Portland, Oregon, and their families. Born September 4, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland, Kimberly attended Milford Mill Academy, earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland and a Master’s in Business Law from the USDA Graduate School. Kimberly loved to play the flute and attended the Peabody Music Conservato­ry Preparator­y School in Baltimore during her high school years, where she was tutored by Bonnie Lake, the lead flutist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Kimberly was an accomplish­ed Trademark Analyst for several law firms in Las Vegas, and previously in Washington, D.C. Kimberly was part owner and served as a Master Cosmetics Crafter for her company, Arcana Naturals. Reception will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 4, with memorial service following, both at the Lake Las Vegas Hilton Resort, 1610 Lake Las Vegas Parkway, in Henderson. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contributi­on in Kimberly’s name can be made to American Cancer Society.
