Tamale Festival

Get ‘em while they’re hot: Somerton, about 12 miles south of Yuma, hosts its 11th annual Tamale Festival on Dec. 16.

The event will serve up some 85,000 tamales of all varieties, accompanied by live music and entertainment.

The festival funds the Arizona State University El Diablito alumni group, which provides scholarships for local students.
