CHARLES "CHUCK" ELIOPULOS

Charles George “Chuck” Eliopulos passed away peacefully, August 28, 2018. Born in Wheeling, W. Va., September 30, 1933 to Gus and Ella Eliopulos, he led a long, full and colorful life. He met his great love, Beverly, in elementary school, and married her Christmas Day, 1952. They were married for over 66 years. Chuck joined the Marine Corps in 1952 and was stationed in Memphis, Tenn., where he earned the rank of Sergeant during the Korean War. Afterwards, Chuck used his GI Bill to further his education, attending Muskingum University and the University of Pittsburgh. Physical therapy was his life’s calling, and Chuck spent over 35 years as a practicing PT in West Virginia. During many of those years, he was Director of the physical therapy department at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Parkersburg, W.Va. While there, he was involved in the community, volunteering as a trainer for the Parkersburg High School Big Reds football team for numerous years. He also volunteered as a trainer for the U.S. Olympic Rowing Team. He and Beverly traveled the world together, and settled in Las Vegas. A diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, blackjack player and jazz lover with an inextinguishable sense of humor, Chuck truly kept us all laughing until the very end. Predeceased by his beloved sister, Effie, he is survived by his wife, Beverly; his daughters, Pam and Tari Eliopulos; son-in-law, Matthew Padden; brothers, Steve and Jim Eliopulos; sister, Maritza (Al) D’Amico; granddaughters, Chelsea and Jessica Brewer and Eleni Padden; and many nieces and nephews. A private memorial service is being planned at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please donate to your local non-profit hospice.
