Matthews keeps up torrid scoring pace as Maple Leafs top Capitals
Center gets 10th goal in six games
WASHINGTON — Auston Matthews scored a goal in his sixth consecutive game to start the season, Frederick Andersen made 25 saves and the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Washington Capitals 4-2 on Saturday.

— At Boston, David Pastrnak scored three times, giving him 101 goals in his career, and Patrice Bergeron had three assists as Boston kept Detroit winless.
■ Lightning 8, Blue Jackets 2 — At Tampa, Fla., Victor Hedman, Cedric Paquette and Yanni Gourde had first-period goals and Tampa Bay beat Columbus.
■ Canadiens 4, Penguins 3, SO — At Montreal, Paul Byron and Jonathan Drouin scored in the shootout as Montreal beat Pittsburgh.
■ Predators 5, Islanders 2— At Nashville, Tenn., Filip Forsberg scored twice, Viktor Arvidsson had a goal and an assist and Nashville won for the fourth time in its first five games.

At New York, Connor McDavid scored the go-ahead goal on the power play and added an assist, lifting Edmonton to its first win of the season.
