Kansas’ clutch free throws turn back No. 17 Villanova
LAWRENCE, Kan. —
Dedric Lawson had 28 points and 12 rebounds, Lagerald Vick scored 29, and top-ranked Kansas made enough free throws down the stretch to beat No. 17 Villanova 7471 Saturday in a rematch of last season’s Final Four showdown won by the Wildcats.
Devon Dotson added 11 points for the Jayhawks (9-0), including four free throws in the final 1:10 to help Kansas end a threegame losing streak to Villanova (8-4) — the last two in the NCAA Tournament.

At Memphis, Tenn., Admiral Schofield scored 20 of his 29 points in the second half and had 11 rebounds for the Volunteers (8-1).
■ No. 12 North Carolina 103, No. 4 Gonzaga 90 —
At Chapel Hill, N.C., Luke Maye had 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Tar Heels (8-2), who shot 55 percent and held a 42-21 edge in rebounds. Zach Norvell Jr. scored 21 points for the Bulldogs (9-2), who shot 51 percent.

At Ann Arbor, Mich., Charles Matthews’ layup just before halftime gave the Wolverines (11-0) their first lead, and he totaled 25 points.
■ No. 7 UNR 72, South Dakota State 68 —
At Reno, Jordan Caroline scored 21 points for the Wolf Pack (120) in their fourth straight comeback of seven points or more. The Jackrabbits (9-4) held a 41-37 edge in rebounds but committed 15 turnovers to UNR’s six.
■ No. 8 Auburn 75, AlabamaBirmingham 71 —
At Birmingham, Ala., Jared Harper scored 23 of the final 30 points for the Tigers (9-1) and totaled 31.
■ No. 15 Ohio State 73, Bucknell 71—
At Columbus, Ohio, Kaleb Wesson scored a career-high 20 points for the Buckeyes (9-1). The Bison (4-4) had a shot at the lead in the final minute, but Bruce Moore’s 3-point try hit the front of the rim with 14 seconds left.

At Athens, Ga., Remy Martin gave the Sun Devils (8-1) their first lead with 2:43 left and totaled 21 points. The Bulldogs (5-4) committed 12 second-half turnovers and blew an 18-point lead.
■ Old Dominion 68, No. 25 Syracuse 62—
At Syracuse, N.Y., B.J. Stith scored all of his 18 points in the second half for the Monarchs (8-3), who overcame an 11-point second-half deficit. Tyus Battle scored 23 points to lead the Orange (7-3).
■ No. 25 Indiana 71, Butler 68 —
At Indianapolis, Juwan Morgan scored a career-high 35 points for the Hoosiers (9-2), who won on Rob Phinisee’s 25foot 3-pointer at the final buzzer.
