Ken­neth Le Roy My­ers Jr., age 71, passed away in Hen­der­son, De­cem­ber 31, 2018. He was born Oc­to­ber 10, 1947, in Spring­field, OH, to Betty and Ken­neth My­ers. He grad­u­ated from Mead­ow­dale High School in Day­ton, OH in 1965. Ken mar­ried Joy Anita Belleville (Dayter) Au­gust 5, 1973 in Las Ve­gas. Ken joined the U.S. Air Force in 1972, and was an Avion­ics Tech­ni­cian work­ing on F 111’s. He and his fam­ily moved all over the world, they set­tled down in the Las Ve­gas Val­ley in 1982. Ken re­tired as Master Sergeant in 1992 af­ter 20 years of ser­vice with two tours in Eng­land and hav­ing worked with the 47 Nighthawks. Once re­tired from the U.S. Air Force, he started work­ing for Im­mi­gra­tion as a FOIA Of­fi­cer and Im­mi­gra­tion Ser­vice Of­fi­cer re­tir­ing af­ter 20 years. Ken was very proud to have served his coun­try in both of his ca­reers. Ken was a mem­ber of Cross­roads Com­mu­nity Church. In his younger years, he was an out­doors­man and golfer. He en­joyed camp­ing with his fam­ily. Ken loved to travel, learn about mil­i­tary his­tory, go­ing to mu­se­ums, es­pe­cially air­plane mu­seum and at­tend­ing air shows. He loved foot­ball, re­main­ing a loyal fan of the Cleve­land Browns. Ken was a great grandpa – he truly en­joyed spend­ing time with his grand­kids. Ken is sur­vived by his wife, Joy; four chil­dren, Natalie (Dar­ryl) Gu­tier­rez, Bon­nie My­ers, Nathan (Nicole) My­ers and Jonathan (Jes­sica) My­ers; 13 grand­chil­dren; one great-grand­son; three si­b­lings, Kerry (Nancy) My­ers, Bette Stekli, and Kevin (Dar­cel) My­ers; and many nieces, neph­ews and ex­tended fam­ily. Ser­vices will be at 11:20 a.m. Wed. Jan. 16, at South­ern Ne­vada Veter­ans Me­mo­rial Ceme­tery, 1900 Veter­ans Me­mo­rial Dr., Boul­der City, Ne­vada 89005.
