ORIN DOUGLAS COLE 4/20/1942 - 1/05/2019

-

On January 5, 2019, the world bid farewell to a beautiful and kind soul. Orin was a man who loved God and made the journey to his eternal home in Heaven while peacefully sleeping. Orin had a passion for reading and loved working the daily newspaper crossword puzzles. He also loved to take weekend excursions to many of the old mining towns that are in the Southern Nevada area. He was a member of Canyon Ridge Christian Church and when he was unable to attend in person, he looked forward to viewing the on-line services. Orin was born in Pennsylvania to Elma H. Milsom Cole and Robert Uriah Cole, who preceded him in death. Orin grew up in and around the Youngstown, OH area. He graduated from Leetonia High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from Youngstown University with a bachelor’s degree in education and Kent State University with a master’s degree in library science. Following his retirement from the Youngstown Library District in the late 1980’s, Orin moved to the Las Vegas area, where he worked in the Steel Construction Industry until his final retirement. Orin was one of nine children. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim Milsom (Mary Ann) of Ohio, Terry Cole (Dianne) of Texas, Elmer Cole (Jeanne) of Ohio and Paul Cole of Nevada; sisters, Mary Chapman (Gordon) of Nevada and Roberta Ryan (Jim) of Nevada. Orin is survived by brothers, George Cole (Monique) of Nevada and Clyde Boyer (Laurie) of Indiana; and by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom loved him very much. Per Orin’s request, there will be no formal memorial service. His life will be celebrated privately by his family. Corinthians 13:13: And now these three remain: Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.
