Jones-on-Jones crime: RB draws taunting fine

-

Aaron Jones waved goodbye to Dallas cornerback Byron Jones on his way to the end zone last Sunday, and now the Green Bay running back can wave goodbye to more than $10,000.

Jones said the NFL fined him $10,527 for “taunting/ unsportsmanlike conduct.”

He was not penalized on the field for the play, which came on the third of his franchise recordtying four touchdown runs in the Packers’ 34-24 win. Jones totaled 182 yards of offense.

Jones said he would appeal the fine, hoping it might get reduced since he is a first-time offender.

Jones said he thought he might get fined for throwing one of his TD balls to his twin brother, Alvin, a former Baltimore linebacker who was in the stands with more than 30 family members and friends. The brothers grew up in El Paso, Texas.

In other Packers news, wide receiver Davante Adams (toe) and safety Darnell Savage (ankle) were ruled out for Monday, and running back Jamaal Williams (concussion, questionable) was a full participant in practice.

■ Jets: Quarterback Luke Falk was waived to clear roster space for reinstated linebacker Brandon Copeland, who had been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s

policy on performance enhancers. Falk started two games in place of Sam Darnold (mononucleosis) and threw for 416 yards, with no TDs, three interceptions and a 62.4 passer rating.

■ Falcons: Kasey Redfern was activated from Atlanta’s practice squad to handle punting and kickoffs in place of Matt Wile (quadriceps, out), who had replaced nine-year veteran Matt Bosher (groin, injured reserve).

■ Lions: Tight end T.J. Hockenson (concussion), wide receiver Danny Amendola (chest), cornerback Darius Slay (hamstring) safety Quandre Diggs (hamstring) are questionable for Monday.
